After 10 Years in the Army Rangers all i wanted was OUT !! I had gotten Burned out & it got so bad i HATED the Army & the Military, After i got out i went to College & after , There wasn't a lot of Support for Vietnam Veterans during this time in America, We were the Baby Killers , The Gun nuts, The Druggy if you read the Newspapers of TV News, Time after time , No i don't think we have a spot for your type of people in our American Company, So i went back into the Military, The only thing i had ever really known & the only place i ever got support, I talked to all the Branches BUT after the Army i didn't trust Recruiters much at all, BUT a USAF Recruiter have i got a job for you & all i could think of is ok here comes the BS of how Great this job is, BUT he showed me a Video of USAF Pararescue & i was HOOKED & he said the only reason ,your being officered this is because of your service as a Ranger, Because that will help you pass this course, I enlisted lost a Rank going back in, After PJ School i served in a lot of places & Attached to a lot of different Units not only USAF BUT Army ,Marine & some Units of a different Countries for Special Ops Missions, I Spent 7 years as a PJ & the only thing i regret is getting injured too bad to stay in, I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE DONE 30 Years as a PJ.
I wish to God that the USAF Pararescue would have been my First Military Service instead of Army Rangers, Don't get me Wrong , I am Very Proud of being an Army Ranger, BUT being a Sniper not only takes away the Enemy's life your facing , BUT little by little it takes your life, That's why you rarely see a person who has been a Sniper for over 10 yrs
Pararescue not only saved others lives BUT it saved my own , THERE IS NO BETTER FEELING IN THE WORLD than seeing a Solider who would have died BUT because of your skill , They will live & be with there Families again, There is NO AMNT of money that can give you that feeling & the smile on there face when they know they are goin to be OK
MY ONLY REGRET IS BEING INJURIED TOO BAD O STAY IN , BUT those are the breaks of the Game , You win some , you loose some
To my Brother PJ's of the Past before me , The Ones serving now & to those PJ's of the Future , I say THANK YOU FOR YUR SERVICE & MAY GOD PROTECT YOU TO WHERE EVER YOUR CALLED TO SERVE A Hand Salute from an Old Disabled PJ
