I remember the first time I saw this photo of our President. It struck me at the time how tired he looked. What a long day he must have had. I am not sure of the time of day, but it has the appearance of early morning hours. He looks so very tired.
Tired, but resolute.
Now, I look at it quite differently.
Now,
- I see a man who didn’t have a long day, but an absolutely brutal 5 years.
- I see a man who walked away from a billionaire’s life of luxury to enter the boisterous sea of politics. Not for personal gain—for had that been his purpose, it would have been absurd to buck the system that is purposely designed to line the pockets of both political parties and their faithful minions—but rather because he saw, as I do, our land and our people being raped of our property and liberties.
- I see a man who professes the Son of God, Christ Jesus, as his savior, but finds so little forgiveness from many of his brothers and sisters for his misteps.
- I see a man who had the courage to stand in the gap between a monstrously evil power structure and the American people; who fought as hard for the ignorant or apathetic and those who hated him as he did for his most passionate fans.
- I see a man who, rather than pacify the people with smooth lines and platitudes, told them the hard truth that they would perhaps rather not hear.
- I see a man who is an optimist, believing nearly all challenges to be surmountable and that the future is worth striving to make as good as possible.
- I see a man who is equally hated by BOTH parties, which tells me more about THEM than him, but also tells me he is most likely the kind of person we need in Babylon, DC.
- I see a man who is not perfect and a Yankee on top, so I am not surprised when being mercilessly attacked for 5 years by evil and self-serving individuals that he did come across blunt and crude toward them at times. But he always spoke endearingly to the People. Always.
- I see a man who himself saw, up close and personal, the wretched underbelly of the Imposter government seated in Washington City; who, though he knew it was terribly corrupt, was astonished at the dark truth his eyes were given opportunity to see firsthand.
- I see a man who did not run in fear from the incredible wickedness that was revealed and which pursued him at every turn, but instead faced it with the courage of David vs Goliath.
- I see a man for which I am forever grateful, who did what he did not have to do, but chose selflessly to do what ought to be done because it was the right thing to do.
Now he is gone. Cheated, not defeated.
Regardless, I miss him already.
Will he be back? Maybe. I do hope so.
But...if anything is learned from his monumental effort these past 5 years, it is that he cannot do it alone. By himself, he cannot restore our land and crush the leviathan that squeezes the life out of everything good. We must rise. With or without him, we must awaken from our civic slumber. We must unshackle ourselves from these wretched parties and take up the flag of Liberty ourselves!
We must rise.
It is our turn to make history. ~P. Cooper
