Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. It is a body of water located in a huge volcanic crater in the mountainous area of southwestern Guatemala. It is surrounded by steep green hills and is known for Mayan villages and volcanoes with impressive sharp cones. The busy town of Panajachel, where traditional fabrics are sold, is a popular access route to the lake. In a former coffee plantation, you will find the Atitlán Nature Reserve, which has trails and a butterfly garden.

Its glaciers include Columbia, the largest tidal glacier in the world; and the Bering Glacier, the largest in North America. Its size is larger than Switzerland.
