I grew up in Big Lake, MN where all of my family lived and lives. My grandparents operated a large vegetable farm where I spent most of my time as a kid. I started working at age 6. My grandfather ended up committing suicide when I was 12-13yo but we continued farming for 3 more years. From there I made my way into plumbing where I stayed working for 6 years ou5 of high school. I had 2 ot(er family members commit suicide by 2008. In the fall of 08 I decided to get a “real” education and chose business as my degree. I graduated from SCTCC with being 1 of the top 40 students in the state in 2010. I had scholarships to U of M, SCSU, and SMSU. I chose SMSU because it felt right. I graduated from SMSU with the highest honors which is summa cum laude. I tried to get into law school but made a poor judgement call on the LSATs and didn’t get a high enough score to get into the 3 law schools I applied for. I did go back to SMSU to get my MBA which I graduated in 2015 for that. Got back into plumbing that hear and now I work for St Paul local 34 plumbers union.
