Today's Second Rant: Open Letter to BLM
Dear Black Lives Matter,
* I hear that you are upset about white privilege. I guess we need to stop all those white only magazines like Jet, and Ebony. I guess we need to stop all white only beauty pageants like Miss Black America. I guess we need to stop all white only college funds like UNCF. I guess we need to terminate all those quota systems that give a percentage to white people like EEOC. I guess we need to stop all the college admission that allow white students in with lower scores.
* I hear that you want more reparations for slavery. Okay, what about those of us who had ancestors who never owned slaves and who fought to free the slaves? Or, are we just lumped in with the rest of the KKK?
* I hear that you want equality. That you want representation. Well, since you make up 12% of the population and 12% of congress is Afro-American is that okay? Or is it you want what Jesse Jackson wants and that is 50% representation?
* I hear you do not want to be judged by the color of your skin. Well, how about you stop judging everyone else by the color of their skin and maybe they will do the same in return. Some of already follow MLK's rule, how about you give it a try?
* I hear you are upset that a black man was killed by a white cop and want justice. That is reasonable. We should hold those who break the law accountable and punish them. That should include the killers who have killed over 12 people in the riots. That should include the arsonists and looters. Justice is not real Justice unless it is equal Justice for all.
* I am willing to entertain arguments if you care to respond.
