Good morning!
Ya know....I sit here in my own little personal oasis every single morning and the birds join me. The sun shines, I drink my coffee, map out my day and life goes on.
I always have "enough".....even abundance! I try not to take advantage of it, but let's face it, most of us, including me, do. Grateful? Yes! But oftentimes not really thought about as we go through our day.
But this morning, I think of all who died for me, so that I CAN enjoy the freedoms I love.
Let us all take time today to think about those freedoms and how grateful we truly are to those who laid their lives down for us.
We don't live in extreme poverty because we have the abilities to work AND jobs to go to.
We have groceries in our stores instead of standing in lines in the HOPES of finding food, or raising our own only for the government to take it from us.
We can complain about our leaders without the fear of being hauled out of our homes.
We have rights and liberties that many other nations know nothing about, and they didn't come free.
No.....they were fought for by the brave men and women who died for those rights and liberties.
How can we ever "repay" those who gave their lives for the good of all?
By remembering. By sending up a prayer of thanks. By protecting those freedoms any and every way we can. By not being afraid to fight for them, no matter the cost. By not being afraid to stand up for what's right and true.
Those are my thoughts as I sit here with my coffee while the chorus of birds greet me.
I hope your day is peaceful.
