MIT professor Gang Chen was arrested yesterday for tax/wire fraud AND illegally being a consultant for the Chinese communist party's tech & scientific development while on US grant money.

Yet, the MIT News informs its students by framing Gang as "a widely respected scholar, teacher and member of our faculty since 2001" and that the news was "deeply distressing and hard to understand" without condemning his illegal actions in any way.
