FDA chief Scott Gottlieb announced yesterday that he is resigning. Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is stepping down after nearly two years leading the agency.

He worked at the FDA from 2002 to 2003 and again in 2005 to 2007. First as a senior advisor to the FDA Commissioner and as the FDA's Director of Medical Policy Development.

Before coming to the FDA Gottlieb was an independent director at Tolero Pharmaceuticals and Daiichi Sankyo Inc. and a member of GlaxoSmithKline's product investment board.

Glad to hear he’s leaving… never thought he should have been appointed to that position in the first place.
