This morning, FBI Special Agent Daniel Alfin and Special Agent Laura Schwarzenberger were killed in the line of duty, and three other agents were injured in the execution of a federal court search order during an investigation into crimes against children in Sunrise, Florida.
U.S. Attorney Brian Schroeder issued the following statement:
"We honor the lives of Special Agent Daniel Alfin and Special Agent Laura Schwarzenberger of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who were killed this morning in Sunrise, Florida. We also hope for the full recovery of the three injured agents. These agents were serving a search warrant for violent crimes against children. Protecting those who cannot protect themselves, especially children, is one of the most sacred duties of law enforcement. These agents were killed and injured in the line of duty. Let it also be a stark reminder of the dangers that all law enforcement officers face on a daily basis. They are risking their lives to protect us, and I remain grateful for that sacrifice."
