So much to unpack. If they are truly qualified, it shouldn't matter who the president is. This also illustrates just how political the leadership of the military truly is. Their resumes also illustrate what it takes to get promoted. It takes a lot of square filling by people who are a mile wide, and an inch deep. And actual leadership ability is not a prerequisite.
