That awful superspreading Super Bowl

It's been the magical "two weeks" (of "wait two weeks" fame) since the Super Bowl.
This was supposed to be a "superspreader" event, or a series of mini-superspreaders (as Dr. Fauci put it) in the country as a whole, because of people's Super Bowl parties.
Here are the charts, (at link) taken from Worldometers. Decide for yourself whether the numbers appear to be going up or down over the past two weeks.
Why were the so-called experts wrong yet again?
Remember the admission -- which I will never tire of quoting -- from White House COVID adviser Andy Slavitt, who, when faced with a comparison between locked-down California (with its young population) and open Florida (with its older, much more vulnerable population), was reduced to saying, "There's so much of this virus that we think we understand, that we think we can predict, that's just a little bit beyond our explanation."
You don't say.
