The enemy comes in as an angel of light. He or she comes
in with their good looking attractive stance, their charming
sex appeal, and their dashing and dapper ways. Everything
about them seems attractive at first; be careful appearances
can be deceiving.

He or she can walk into a crowded room and make friends
with the coldest of strangers. You are witness to how they
he or she can captivate an audience of one, two or three
a handful even and there you are standing at their side,
wide eyed and captivated. Be careful appearances can
be deceiving.

He or she has the most amazing life stories to tell you.
They will entertain you or their entourage for hours
and a day. Their stories will tug at your heart strings,
as their stories will invoke sadness and joy and some
how you find yourself celebrating their strengths and
weaknesses with them all over again. Be careful
appearances can be deceiving.

When He or she knows they have an in into your life; into
your mind, and heart, they will begin to capture your soul,
they will buy you gifts and sway you with their money as
they throw it around and waste it on you like money is
no object. Your money saving frugality will only make
them want to spend more on you, in the beginning.
Your protests of ‘ you shouldn’t have’, ‘ Thank you but
you could have spent the money on something more
practical.’ These kind affirmations let he or she know
who you are, they are looking for someone like you;
someone who won’t spend their money or take them
to the cleaners unannounced, especially when things
start to fall apart, and they will; they’ll make sure of that,
just to test your loyalty. So be careful appearances can
be deceiving.

The closer you two seem to get, he or she distances
their heart from you. You don’t know this of course
because appearances have deceived you. You have
been deceived into giving your heart away to someone
who is… a snake in the grass.

Once you learn of all their deceptions, now it is time to
turn the tables. Just as God turned Aaron’s staff into a
snake, to devour the enemy’s snakes. To get out of the
snake in the grass’s grip, you need to be aware of how
a snake acts. You need to be aware of the character of
the snake and become impervious to its venom. Just as
God’s snake devoured the enemy’s snake; we too can
become innocent as the dove and as shrewd as a snake
to use the enemy’s deceitful ways against them.
Appearances can be deceiving as the enemy who once
thought you were an easy target, he or she has bitten
off more than they can chew. Oh right… snakes don’t
chew… they swallow and they swallow their prey whole.

The snake in the grass, we know them by another name, the #narcissist.
