Do you have caller ID on your phones? I could add up all the calls I get that have a name, ie: family, friends, known business companies and compare them to the number of scam callers, and they are easily 5 to 1 in favor of scammers. They think they are calling an elderly woman who recently died at the age of 101 years old. (my mother) If you have elderly people, or you are older, they have your info on a target list for scammers, and they have endless amounts of creative ideas to scam the elderly out of money! I remember when the phone was a great item for the home, but times have changed. A garbage disposal is a much better investment and it has no monthly fees! If Spam Risk callers would put the same effort into a job that they do in taking from the elderly, they would probably be wealthy already. Try getting a job like she did so someday you can be on that list! I wonder just how many people with foreign accents have good old American names like Bob Smith, there are because they call constantly and can barely speak English. Charging for long distance oversea calls would stop most of that! Cell phone? No day in hell would I want to be that accessible to the scammers and have to pay for it! Protect your family and look out for these low lives!
