The pilgrims were so thankful for the help from the English speaking Squanto, who they considered to be a divine gift from God and admitted they didn't know if they would have survived without him. When Squanto was dying two years after he encountered the pilgrims, he said he wished to go to heaven with their God. Another special gift from God was Habomock, who actually lived with the pilgrims as their special friend and blessing to help them. In the history of this nation, there were certainly countless wrongs done to the native Americans here. Those wrongs have yet to be made right. But on THIS day we choose to celebrate the time when things were done RIGHT and in the power and anointing of God.
