Shark
Tonic immobility is a natural state of temporary paralysis that occurs in sharks when they are flipped onto their backs or experience certain types of pressure. It’s often seen in interactions between sharks, where one may bite the other in a dominance display until it enters this trance-like state. Though it may look intense, tonic immobility is harmless and typically lasts for only a few minutes before the shark regains full movement.
