Didn't think about it until now, but in the past 3 yrs, I had a MILD case of shingles TWICE & while mild, it was very painful. I had to go back to the doctor for a follow-up each time. The 2nd time, they wanted me to get the shingles vaccine. Ha! I said no because I don't like to take meds and avoid vaccines if at all possible. Also, I take my dad every year for a annual checkup, he gets the flu vaccine (I'm thinking I'm helping him - this is before all this COVID19). This past year was the WORST! In between Aug and December he went to the hospital 3x, 2 of which he was admitted for a week each! THIS YEAR, he's NOT getting any more vaccines!! And, so far, knock on wood, he has NOT been sick with COVID 19! It's COMMON SENSE to wash your hands and cover your mouth when coughing. He'll be 84 this year, has only 1 good lung , the other lung has (COPD from working on the highway w/asphalt & concrete, for over 35 yrs) and he has alzheimer's. COVID 19 doesn't seem that bad, considering the flu shot seemed to get him VERY sick shortly after receiving it! The only reason (I'm told) that he got sick again was because his cough had never really went away. NO MORE VACCINES for us!!
