Does Latvia allow dual citizenship? The answer is a bit complicated. Although the Latvian Constitution does not prohibit dual citizenship, it also does not explicitly permit it. In practice, however, the government has generally been accepting of dual citizenship. In fact, many Latvians have dual citizenship with another country, typically Russia or Lithuania. This is due to the complicated history of the region, as well as the fact that many Latvians have relatives in other countries.
